This test gives some indication of binder modification of bituminous material by measuring the amount of recoverable elongation. The elastic recovery is influenced by the properties of the base asphalt, the amount and type of modifier used, as well as the Elastic Recovery Test procedure details.

This test method provides one measure of tensile properties of asphalt and may be used for specification requirements.
Separation of Polymer, softening point or
DSR (proposed)
This test procedure is used to measure the tendency of a polymer to separate from the asphalt in a polymer modified asphalt binder. The procedure may be useful in formulating products or evaluating the properties of materials sampled in the field, or in some cases, may be used for specification requirements.
